Shift Invest: structured AI adoption for an impact VC fund

Shift Invest is a Dutch impact venture capital fund backing innovations in food and agriculture, green industries, and health. The team knew AI could take real work off their plate. What they did not need was another tool demo. They needed the latest capabilities implemented in a structured, reliable way, inside the workflows they already run. That is the work TechTower did.

The challenge

Funds see every new AI tool that ships, and most of it never makes it past a trial tab. The gap is not awareness, it is implementation: turning fast-moving AI capabilities into workflows the team actually uses. Shift Invest wanted that translation done properly, without a stalled pilot or a stack nobody trusts.

What we built

We brought new AI tooling into the fund's workflows one step at a time. Rather than a big-bang rollout, each capability was selected, implemented, and integrated into how the team already works, with a clear feedback loop before moving to the next. TechTower operated as the engineering function: we picked the right tools, wired them in, and made sure each one earned its place before the next went live.

What we deployed: AI tooling selection and implementation, structured step-by-step rollout, and workflow integration, built on TechTower's operating stack of Apify plus Claude Code for sourcing, Clay for enrichment, Attio as the CRM, Lemlist for sequencing, and n8n to orchestrate, with Claude and other AI for analysis.

How it runs

Each new capability enters the same loop: implement in a real workflow, gather clear feedback from the team, refine, then move on. The stack flexes to the task at hand while the process stays constant. New AI capabilities land in a controlled, reliable way instead of piling up as another set of tabs nobody opens.

The outcome

Shift Invest now has the latest AI tooling running inside its actual workflows, adopted in a structured manner the team can rely on. The relationship is ongoing, with new capabilities brought in the same disciplined way as they emerge.
